LAKE OF THE OZARKS, MO (KTVI) – Missouri officials are trying to keep geese from flocking near swimming beaches at the Lake of the Ozarks.

Geese can interfere with water quality, contributing to high e-coli bacteria tests. They also can make a mess and be aggressive.

Landscaping techniques at beaches have been adjusted to deter geese from congregating. It includes allowing vegetation to grow near the beach and installing brown landscape rock.

Officials also have moved 24 geese from the Lake of the Ozarks to another park with aquatic and wildlife habitat.
