Residential Population Growing In Downtown St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)-- New figures from the Partnership for Downtown St. Louis show over the past ten years, the residential population downtown has doubled to 14,000.

That reflects an addition of 500 new residents each year since 2000.

Along with that good news, the partnership has also learned the not-for-profit group CEOs For Cities, has ranked St. Louis number one in the growth of residents 25-34 years old since 2000.

The partnership says the residential occupancy rate downtown in 90 percent, and that the residential character is starting to change with more apartments begin added to all those lofts.
