ST. LOUIS, MO. (KTVI) - Today was a reality check for the Bone family, a giant million dollar reality check.

'Well I really didn't think that people actually won the Powerball,' says Jamie Bone.  'I had never known anybody to win it.  None of my friends had won it.  I guess you can say maybe I thought it was a waste of money.  But absolutely not.'

Win is what Jamie Bone did in the recent $590.5 million dollar Powerball jackpot.  She matched all five white-ball numbers and our cameras were there when she found out.

'Shut up,' exclaims Bone.   'There's no way.'

'I had wanted her to go get me a soda down the street,' says husband Adam Bone.   'She had the lottery ticket and I said well just go take it down there and see what you've won.  I said, you might have won 5000 dollars this is great.'

'We were building a clubhouse for our children all night long so we didn't check the numbers till the following day,' says Jamie.  'I had stain behind my ears and behind my hair.  I'm one of those people that if you leave your house and you don't look good you're going to run into everybody.  So that day I ran into everybody in St. Louis.'

Although they missed the Powerball number the match five prize of a million dollars is paid out in one lump sum of $710-thousand dollars.

That's no small change, especially if you converted that to small change.

'Have you considered getting it all in coins and diving into it like Scrooge McDuck?' asks Patrick Clark.

'I thought about all of that,' laughs Adam.  'It'd be nice to do but no.  It's going straight into the bank.'

Jamie, the Coldwell Banker realtor, has a very real new home in the near future.

'We were going to move next March and now we get to move a lot sooner,' says a beaming Jamie.
