PORTAGE DES SIOUX, MO (KTVI)-- Portage Des Sioux residents told Fox 2 they are prepared for flooding of the Mississippi and Missouri rivers.

The rivers are expected to rise significantly over the next few days.

However, Bud Minster said he was not "really worried" about the flooding.

He lives right next to the river and has seen it creep closer to his home over the last few days.

"I just don't think it is going to get too high," he said. "We are prepared, and we will be okay."

Daniel Krill is more concerned.

"My home is next to the Portage Des Sioux wetlands, so that will rise and go into my basement," he said.

Creeks and streams could also flood and threaten homes.

"I hope it does not happen, but you really can't do anything," Krill said.
