MASCOUTAH, IL (KTVI) – The USO Mud Run is Saturday, and Kim Hudson warmed up by getting down and dirty Thursday morning.

The event will help fund programs for the USO of Missouri.  Organizers want to make sure all military servicemen and women feel a touch of home, no matter where they are from.

The group will hold the 5th Annual USO of Missouri 5K Cross Country Mud Run starting at 8:00 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013.  They are expecting more than 1,000 runners this year at Mid-America Airport in Mascoutah, Illinois.

Runners who are 13 years and older are welcome to register for the timed endurance run for individuals and teams.  Athletes can take on the giant Mud Mountain, Mud Crawls and a new Slip and Slide.

Registrations received before midnight on May 30, 2013 will be just $30 for individuals, $125 for 5-member teams.

Day-of registrations will be $35 for individuals and $175 for teams.

The race is sponsored by Gateway Harley Davidson.
