8 Arrested for Smurfing for Meth

WARRENTON, MO (KTVI) – Police nabbed these eight suspects gathering pseudo-ephedrine pills in Warren County.  The practice is also known as smurfing.  It is when drug distributors hire people to buy pseudo-ephedrine in order to exceed legal purchase limits in order to manufacture of  drugs.

These eight are being charged with attempting to manufacture methamphetamine.  They say they were stealing the pills to supply another person the raw materials to make meth.

These eight suspects were taken to police custody on April 9, 2013.  They are all being formally charged with attempt to manufacture controlled substance attempt to manufacture controlled substance attempt to manufacture controlled substance Bond Set at $25,000.
