Cardinals Add More Pitching in First Round of Draft

At the Baseball Draft on Thursday night, the Cardinals doubled on left handed pitchers in the first round. With the 19th pick, the Cards selected Marco Gonzales a left handed starting pitcher from Gonzaga University. Gonzales was 7-3 with a 2.80 ERA this season, leading Gonzaga to a conference title.

With the 28th pick, which they were awarded for the Milwaukee Brewers signing free agent pitcher Kyle Lohse, the Birds chose another left handed pitcher. Rob Kaminsky, a high school pitcher from St. Joseph Regional High School in New Jersey was the Cardinals choice.
