Russian President Putin, Wife Divorce

(CNN) — Russian President Vladimir Putin and his wife, Lyudmila, said Thursday that their nearly 30-year marriage has ended, Russian state-run news agency RIA Novosti reported.

The announcement comes after longtime speculation about their relationship, RIA Novosti reported.

Putin married Lyudmila Shkrebneva in July 1983. Their children, Maria and Yekaterina, were born in the mid-80s.
