Cardinals Confidential: Cardinals Care 6K

(KTVI)-In August, the St. Louis Cardinals will host the Cardinals Care 6K. Then event honors the legacy of Stan Musial, promotes health and fitness, and raises funds for Cardinals Care.

Olympic Champion and track and field legend Jackie Joyner-Kersee will be on hand to cheer on the runners and hand out medals.

The 6K race is scheduled for Sunday, August 18, 2013, and if for people 18 and older. The start will be at 8:06am at the Stan The Man statue outside Busch Stadium. Runners wind around  the streets of downtown St. Louis and end on the warning track inside the stadium. A family friendly one mile Fun Run begins immediately after the 6K.

All runners will receive a commemorative t-shirt, medal or ribbon, and a chance for many more exclusive rewards

Registration for the 6K is $30. The Fun Run is $20. The team is also asking participants to raise additional money through pledges of support from friends and family.

The race is the second largest fundraising event for Cardinals Care, the St. Louis Cardinals’ non-profit foundation dedicated to caring for kids.
