(KTVI) - Human genes may not be patented -- that was the U.S. Supreme Court's unanimous decision last week.

A Utah company held patents on genes that increased the risk of breast and ovarian cancer.  Other researchers who were blocked from using the genes sued saying they too should have access to something found in nature. The high court agreed.  So does Suzanne Mahon of Saint Louis University Cancer Center.
