ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – It's been five years since St. Louis Firefighter Leonard Riggins was shot and killed on his way home after when he stopped to help a car crash victim.  That crash victim turned out to be a carjacker who murdered Riggins.

Leonard was an innocent victim of a troubled teenager. His widow continues her mission to keep his memory alive and help other troubled teenagers.

Darnita Riggins talked to Randi Naughton about a basketball tournament, a great community event in her husband's memory.

After her husband's death, she started the SAIL Foundation. S.A.I.L stands for Save An Innocent Life. It’s a  501(c)(3) non-profit organization working to help troubled teens avoid violence.
