ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) -  Some drivers did a double-take when they saw the money and a bank bag on the highway. Police were quickly called to the scene by motorists and a search began along eastbound I-64 highway 40 near Tamm avenue.  The eastbound lanes were closed between Skinker and Kingshighway as officers looked in the grass alongside the interstate. Police said they believe the money came out of an armored truck traveling in the area.

Police did not identify the business on the deposit slip, but investigators want to know how the bank bag and cash ended up on the highway.  Officers said they did not see any motorists taking off with any of the money.
