ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Last year, Rolling for Backstoppers had more than 700 roller skating participants. Organizers hope to have even more people join in this year.

Police Lt. Cheryl Orange stopped by with members of the St. Louis fire and police departments to explain to Margie Ellisor all the things people can do to help Backstoppers this weekend.

Rollin’ Gala 2013

Rollin’ for BackStoppers kicks off their annual fund raising efforts with an elegant night to remember – the Rollin’ Gala 2013. The event will be held at The Coliseum. Prominent members of the St. Louis community, family, friends and spouses of the fallen will be in attendance.

Rollin’ on eight wheels, this signature event attracts hundreds of supporters for an evening of fun and recognition.

Roll of Remembrance

The ultimate salute when hundreds of motorcycles take over the streets of St. Louis to honor and contribute to the fund for our fallen officers, firefighters and EMS. The ride ends in a great celebration at Forest Park with a spectacular Corvette show, local vendors, and a softball game. The game includes participants from the local police, fire and motorcycle clubs. There are also kickball games.

The ride begins Sunday June 23, at Skate King 6100 Natural Bridge.  Registration begins at 9am and includes a small continental refreshments and a meet and greet.

Kickstands up at 10:45am with the ride ending in Forest Park.  The park festivities beginning at 12 noon in at the Central Fields with lunch for the participants provided.   Registration is just $25 per bike and $15 for each additional rider.  There will be plenty of room for families to come out and enjoy all the festivities and even bring their own picnic experience.

Proceeds from all events benefit The BackStoppers.
