WASHINGTON, DC - A red panda that disappeared from the Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington has been found safe. Officials made the announcement on the Zoo's Twitter account.
Zookeepers discovered "Rusty" was missing Monday morning. This afternoon, the Zoo tweeted he has been "recovered, crated and headed safely back to the National Zoo."
He was discovered up a tree in a residential neighborhood nearby. "Rusty" came to Washington in April from a Zoo in Lincoln, Nebraska.
