PONTOON BEACH, IL (KTVI)-- Among the hardest hit areas by Sunday night`s storms was the Metro East city of Pontoon Beach.

On Lake Street high winds damaged trees, sending part of a giant oak crashing down onto the house of the 92-year-old woman who planted it was she was just five years old.

In other parts of town, standing water has been so high some people could not get out of their neighborhoods to go to work.
