Real Madrid, Inter Milan To Play In St. Louis; Tickets On Sale July 1

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)-- Soccer returns to St. Louis this August.  Real Madrid will take on Inter Milan at the Edward Jones Dome on August 10, 2013.

Tickets go on sale Monday, July 1st at 9 a.m. to the general public. There will be a presale opportunity for St. Louis Rams season ticket holders.

Fans sold out Busch Stadium for the Manchester City and Chelsea Football Club match last month.  Forty-eight thousand filed into the baseball stadium for the first international soccer match at the new Busch.

It could lucrative day for the St. Louis Region.  According to the St. Louis Business Journal, the Busch soccer match brought between $1.5 and $2-million to the area.  Fans came from all over the world to stay in local hotels and eat at local restaurants.  The Dome can hold 19,000 more fans, and the baseball Cardinals play the Chicago Cubs on the afternoon after the match at the Dome.

There are rumors that international soccer star Christiano Ronaldo will be in town to play for Real Madrid.  Madrid will also bring a brand-new coach, Carlo Ancelotti.  Ancelotti has four European Cups, two as a coach and two as a player.  He told Real TV that he is looking forward to playing “attacking and spectacular football.”

Inter Milan brings 20-year-old Alfred Duncan.  SkySports and FOXSoccer said the midfielder is “one of Ghana’s most promising players”.

St. Louis fans will be happy to know the football turf will come out of the dome and natural grass will be put down.  Don’t worry about the Rams.  Their game is August 17, 2013.
