STARKE, FL – A group of atheists in Northeast Florida is unveiling a new monument in front of the Bradford County courthouse.

It was placed next to a ten commandments monument. The American Atheists decided to put the granite bench in after losing a battle to have the Ten Commandments statue removed. The group argued the statue was a violation of the seperation of church and state law. But the county said removing the statue would be a violation of free speech rights and invited the group to put in its own statue.

According to the American Atheists Group, the 1,500 lbs bench is the first Atheist monument allowed on government propoerty in the US.
