ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - Police investigators are looking into a fatal accident that happened early Monday morning.

Around 2:15 a.m. a speeding SUV struck a car along Martin Luther King Drive and North Euclid in North St. Louis.

Two people in the car and the driver of the SUV had to be cut from the wreckage.

The driver of the car is listed in critical condition. The passenger of car died from his injuries. He has been identified as 53-year-old David Pullum.

A man who was riding in the SUV ran from the scene after the accident, but was caught about a block away.

Police recovered a handgun from inside the SUV.
