Mallinckrodt to invest $2M into Hazelwood facility

HAZELWOOD, MO. (KTVI) – Newly independent Mallinckrodt has announced that will be investing $2 million dollars into its Hazelwood headquarters in Hazelwood, Missouri.

The investment marks the first such move, since Mallinckrodt was spun-off Covidien.

It’s expected the headquarters will remain the companies U.S. headquarters.  The company is incorporated in Ireland and started public trading Monday on the New York Stock Exchange.

Company officials also say the move could bring 150 new jobs the north county facility.

Mallinckrodt is a leading specialty pharmaceutical company that currently employs 2,500 workers in the St. Louis area, and has more than 5,500 employees globally.
