(KTVI) – It’s time for the Operation Food Search Tomato Explosion. During the month of July, more than 50 St. Louis restaurants have designated a tomato dish on their menu where a portion of the proceeds go to benefit Operation Food Search. Dishes include items such as caprese salad, pomodoro pasta, heirloom tomato salad, roasted tomato soup and fried green tomatoes.

New this year is a photo contest. Customers can take a photo of themselves eating the tomato dish at a participating restaurant and upload it to Feast Magazine's web site.  One lucky winner will win a smart phone from T-Mobile.

But Leslie Bertsch showed Tim Ezell that tomatoes are not only good for the inside, they can help your skin on the outside, too. Mix together plain yogurt and crushed tomato and apply to your face. This concoction can help soothe a sunburn.
