A terror plot in Canada is foiled. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police say they arrested two suspects accused of plotting to use explosive devices Monday in British Columbia.

Monday was Canada Day, a holiday that celebrates the country’s birthday. Authorities say the suspects planned to target the British Columbia legislature. The RCMP say the suspects are canadians who were inspired by Al Qaeda ideology.

The suspects are facing multiple terror-related charges. The RCMP says they detected the threat early and the public was never in any danger.
