Cards and Kelly Beat Cubs 3-2

The Cardinals got even with the Cubs winning 3-2 on Friday afternoon at Wrigley Field. Joe Kelly got his first win since last season, pitching the first five and third innings, allowing just one run. Edward Mujica pitched a scoreless 9th inning to get his 26th save in 27 chances.

Carlos Beltran fueled the Cardinals offense with three hits. His 1st inning triple gave the Cardinals a 1-0 lead. Allen Craig was next up and singled to center to bring in Beltran, giving the Cards a quick 2-0 lead. Matt Carpenter padded a 2-1 Redbirds lead with a run scoring double in the 7th inning.
