FRANKLIN COUNTY, MO (KTVI) – A father and son who disappeared and prompted two days of searching in rural St. Louis County have been found safe.

St. Louis County Police say Michael and David Hill were found around 8 p.m. on Thursday after an anonymous tip was called into police.  The tipster recognized the father and son from news media reports.

According to police, Hill and his 16-year-old son have been camping in Franklin County since they disappeared 10 days ago.

The pair went missing on Tuesday, July 2.  They were reported missing when the wife of Michael Hill, 36, said they had not returned after leaving to go fishing about two hours earlier.

A massive search started near the Pacific Palisades Conservation Area in far southwest St. Louis County. Officials called off the search a day later believing the two left the area on their own.

Authorities now say the two disappeared because of domestic issues.  No charges have been filed at this time.
