USDA Kicks Off Nationwide Food Drive
The food drive helps food banks and pantries stay stocked during summer months, when they traditionally see decreases in donations and increases in the need for assistance.
Over the past four years, the drive has collected and donated 15.2 million pounds of food and other non-perishable items.
This year, in addition to accepting non-perishable items, certain USDA agencies will accept fresh produce. Those in Missouri interested in allowing volunteers to help glean fields, with donations going to their local food banks or pantries, contact Emily Murray by email at email@example.com.
