USDA Kicks Off Nationwide Food Drive

(KTVI)-U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) agencies will begin accepting donations for the annual Feds Feed Families food drive on Monday, July 15. Donations will be accepted through August 28.

The food drive helps food banks and pantries stay stocked during summer months, when they traditionally see decreases in donations and increases in the need for assistance.

Over the past four years, the drive has collected and donated 15.2 million pounds of food and other non-perishable items.

This year, in addition to accepting non-perishable items, certain USDA agencies will accept fresh produce.  Those in Missouri interested in allowing volunteers to help glean fields, with donations going to their local food banks or pantries, contact Emily Murray by email at
