ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - St. Louis was put to the test, using the honor system.

A tea company conducted a social experiment to see how many people would steal cold drinks on a hot day.

When Kevin Causey and his family dropped their dollars into the unsupervised drink stand in the middle of Forest Park on Wednesday, they had no idea they were part of a nationwide social experiment.

Kevin did not notice the Honest Tea employees sitting in the mysterious U-Haul van across the street and keeping surveillance on the project from 8am to 6pm.

Several honest Forest Park visitors didn't think twice about paying for their cold drink, and hope the rest of their hometown does likewise.

Others were a little more skeptical.

Not one person was caught taking a drink without paying on ourFOX 2 hidden camera for three hours on Wednesday afternoon, which Katelyn Jones says was consistent with the entire day.

You can find out if St. Louis passed of failed this social experiment by going to the on July 23rd.
