St. Charles church memebers injured in Georgia bus crash

ST. CHARLES, MO (KTVI)-- Several people were injured after a church bus from St. Charles crashed in north Georgia Wednesday night.

The bus is from the First Baptist Church in St. Charles.

According to Pastor Buddy Perstrop, students were on the bus. Seventeen of 24 passengers were taken to hospitals, most with cuts, scrapes and bruises, and were later released.

One student went to the Children`s Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. He had a concussion and lacerated liver. He was later released from the hospital.

Three adults had more serious injuries, such as a broken leg and broken vertebrae. No word on their condition.

Another church bus is headed for Georgia to pick up the students and bring them back on Friday, July 19. The students will be leaving after breakfast so they should be home in the evening.
