ST. LOUIS, MO. (KTVI) -- We all have a little "crafty" in us.  If you want to do something for your pet, there are some great craft options for you and your pet to enjoy.

Jeremy Rabe is a "Craft Guru" showed Randi Naughton how to make  a “do it yourself” pet bed.

Some retailers have gone to the extreme with $3,500 cat houses, $500 diamond-studded dog collars, and if your pet just needs to eat in the lap of luxury, a Versace pet bowl for just over $750.

But you can make your own pet bed by yourself out of the following materials.


  • An Old Suitcase
  • Finials:  2 pack for $2.93 at Lowes
  • Scrap wood pieces
  • Fun Fabric Remnant or Old Pillow Case
  • Mod Podge
  • $1 Picture Frame from Dollar Tree
  • Spare Spray Paint
  • Pillow $2.50 at Walmart
  • Fun, colorful Pillow Case
  • Peel n Stick Velcro
  • A Drill
  • Paint brush
