EUREKA, MO (KTVI) – The cool weather in July has many people confused (Margie has been decorating Christmas trees). But what has it done to animals? They can’t see the calendar to know it’s only July.

Walt Crawford, from the World Bird Sanctuary, stopped by to tell Tim Ezell that some animals are confused, too. Some birds and rabbits are already on their third clutch of babies. That means you will be seeing baby bunnies and chicks around. Do not worry, rabbit and bird mommies and daddies are around and still feeding the little ones. Just leave them alone so the parents can take care of them.

Some animals are likely wondering if they've stored enough for winter. Hummingbirds don't know what the heck is going on. August will be important for many animals as they prepare to migrate or settle in for the long winter.
