ST. LOUIS (KTVI)- The St. Louis Cardinals have traded left-handed pitcher Marc Rzepczynski to the Cleveland Indians in exchange for minor league shortstop Juan Herrera. The team had optioned Rzepczynski to Memphis (AAA) earlier Tuesday.

Herrera, 20, is a right-handed hitting native of Bani, Dominican Republic. He was signed by Cleveland as a non-drafted free-agent on October 6, 2010.  Herrera had been playing for Mahoning Valley in the New York-Penn League (A)and will be assigned to the State College (Pa.) Spikes.
