WAYNESVILLE, MO (KTVI) - The traffic on I-44 was backed up seven miles and more with essentially nowhere to go.  Flood waters have closed the road. Confused drivers looked for alternatives to what looked like their only choice.

Detours choked with traffic more than 80 miles to the north or south.  Even folks living in Rolla found themselves cut off as more roads closed.

MoDOT has also closed Route 63 south of Vienna in Maries County. Get detour suggestions HERE.
