Mother swept away by Missouri floods; Evacuations ordered

WAYNESVILLE, MO (KTVI) - A mother was swept away during flash flooding in Waynesville. Jessica Lee, 23, was traveling with her son on the West side of town. She called her family in distress when her car was wiped off the road. Her son, Elyjah Lee, 4, has been found but she has not.

The National Guard is looking for Jessica Lee. Helicopters may be called in for the search.

More rain has been falling in the area. 2-3 inches have recently of fallen and the river is expected to rise 4 feet.

New evacuations have been ordered for the area effective at 4pm. Officials worry that people cleaning up on the West side of town may be impacted by flash floods.
