Ex-con Larry Lawton to become an honorary police officer

(KTVI) - It sounds unbelievable but it isn't.   Friday, Lake St. Louis police will swear in an ex-con as an honorary police officer.  The nation's first.

His name is Larry Lawton and he was once considered one of the biggest jewel robbers in the country.   He spent 11 years in some of the nation's toughest federal prisons.  but what happened after his release is the reason for Friday's honor.
