WELDON SPRING, MO (KTVI)-- The GFI digital CBC alumni open golf tournament took place at both Whitmoor Country Club and the Bluffs Monday afternoon.

Hundreds of golfers took part in the event. This is an annual outing for CBC alumni and golf enthusiasts and a record number of people participating.

The sold out event drew 440 golfers playing over three golf courses. That's a record number of players playing at both Whitmore Country Club and the Bluffs.

CBC alumni Martin Kilcoyne was on hand along with our FOX 2 General Manager Spencer Koch.

Bommarito Automotive SkyFOX was overhead as the golfers teed off around noon Monday.

This tournament is a chance for golfers to work on their long drives and short game, but more importantly to raise money for education.

$2 million in nine years and it all goes towards scholarships to help students with yearly tuition.
