CHESTERFIELD, MO (KTVI)-- You've seen the ads on television, where Texas Governor Rick Perry is promising Missouri businesses incentives for moving to the Lone Star State.
Thursday's visit from Governor Perry to Missouri did nothing to cool the debate over which state is more business friendly.
Perry has been running TV commercials urging businesses to move from Missouri to Texas.
His speech in Chesterfield was billed by sponsor Grow Missouri as part of the campaign to override Governor Jay Nixon's veto of a tax cut bill.
He spoke of competition being healthy for both states.
Nixon has been criss crossing the state pointing out how the tax cut will reduce funding for education and social services to the mentally ill and disabled.
Nixon argues Missouri needs to provide services to remain competitive.
Nixon has been highly critical of the Missouri Chamber of Commerce, a business group that sponsored a luncheon featuring Perry.
The chamber says it is not urging businesses to leave Missouri for Texas, but it likes the lower taxes in Texas.
