Wood River officer indicted on misconduct charges

EWARDSVILLE, IL (KTVI) – A Wood River police officer is facing up to five years in jail for charges stemming from alleged misconduct.

A Madison County jury indicted Officer Jerry J. Elliott, 32, on charges of Official Misconduct, which is a felony.

According to the Madison County State’s Attorney’s office, Elliott solicited a sexual act from a 29-year-old Wood River woman in exchange for help in an investigation.

Elliott is currently suspended without pay and is expected to turn himself into the Madison County Jail Thursday.  Bond is set at $50,000.
