Actress Valerie Harper is beating the odds of her terminal cancer diagnosis. TMZ reports the 74-year-old will join the cast of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars.
We all remember her as Rhoda on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show.” Emmy award-winning actress Valerie Harper revealed to the world in March that she is suffering from terminal brain cancer. Harper has defied those odds and still going strong and taking on a new challenge.
Celebrity news website, TMZ, is reporting that harper will be hitting the ballroom floor in the upcoming season of ‘Dancing with the Stars.’
The pick stunning many because of Harper’s incurable form of cancer she discussed on Piers Morgan.
Doctors gave her until June to live but she has far surpassed that. At a recent press event for the sitcom “Hot In Cleveland,” Harper addressed her prognosis.
Her commitment to the physically-demanding reality show could have the 74-year-old on the dancefloor for weeks if america votes her through to the finale.
Harper’s outlook on life and her determination is nothing short of remarkable.
“Death is out there for all of us and that there is other ways to handle it than just sitting on the couch and accept.” said Valerie Harper.
ABC reps said they don’t comment on casting rumors, attempts also were made to Harpers reps for comment. TMZ also reported Leah Remini will be on the next season, as well as Snooki, Elizabeth Berkley, Amber Riley from “Glee,” and Christina Milian.
