Street collapses at N. Market & N. Broadway in St. Louis

(KTVI) -A major street collapse in north St. Louis has forced street crews to close North Broadway at North Market.

Todd Waeltermann with the city Streets Department says the hole is about 80 feet long, 10 feet wide and 8 feet deep.

Waeltermann says they believe a fire line broke a water pipe and an Ameren

North Broadway and North Market are shut down because the street has collapsed.
