Missing Illinois teen found in Cape Girardeau, MO

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KTVI) – A teen missing from Champaign, IL was located in Cape Girardeau, MO late Friday morning. An Amber Alert had been issued for Cleo Younce, 13, earlier in the day.

According to Champaign police, Younce left her home at 12:30pm Thursday to go for a walk.  At 3:15pm, Younce’s mother said the teen called and said she had been taken by a man she identified at Nicholas R. Hurley, of Daleville Indiana.  The two are acquainted with each other through family friends.

Around 11:30am Friday, Cape Girardeau, MO police were alerted by federal authorities that the suspect could possibly be in the area.  Officers responded to a Walmart store where they found a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle.  Within a few minutes Hurley and Younce were located as they left the store.

Hurley, 21, was taken into custody and is being held for federal authorities.
