FERGUSON, MO. (KTVI) – The Ferguson Police Department has arrested a man suspected of sexual assault upon a 12-year-old girl in 1993.  The victim recently contacted the Ferguson Police after her family encountered 60-year-old Pedro Castillo at a local Mexican restaurant, where he had been seen performing with a Mariachi band.

Castillo had fled the St. Louis area, possibly to Mexico, after having learned he was under investigation for an incident that occurred in a house Castillo was residing.  He allegedly entered a room where the victim and friends were holding a sleepover and assaulted the 12-year-old victim.

Police believe Castillo had also been sexually assaulting his step-daughter over a period of years.

Authorities don’t know how long Castillo has been back in the St. Louis area, but state that he’s been charged with one count of sodomy, with additional charges to follow.
