The Blues opened their 2013-14 season with a solid 4-2 win over the Predators on Thursday night at Scottrade Center. The Blues got three first period goals to take control of this game early. David Backes scored just 2:05 into the game with a power play goal. Vladimir Sobotka made it 2-0 at the 5:43 mark of the first period. And at 9:45 of the opening period, T.J. Oshie scored for a three goal period. Alexander Steen added a second period power play goal to give the Blues a 4-2 lead. Jaroslav Halak stopped 28 Nashville shots to get the win in goal.
