Suspect in custody after bomb squad searches Shiloh home

SHILOH, IL (KTVI)– A bomb squad was called to the scene at a house in Shiloh, Illinois.

At approximately 2:00 p.m. Thursday, the FBI was notified of a bomb threat.  Special Agents and Bomb Technicians from the FBI and the Illinois Secretary of State Police Hazardous Device Unit responded with the Shiloh Police Department to a home at 10 Twin Oaks Drive.

Bomb technicians entered the residence and located, identified, and rendered potential explosive devices safe.

David A. Ford, FBI Special Agent in Charge, stated, “Consistent with our mission to protect national security, the FBI has leveraged our combined resources, including federal, state, county and city police, to aggressively address this threat.  The scene has been securedand there is no threat to public safety.  The FBI’s investigation is continuing.”

The subject is in custody.  The FBI cannot comment on specific details regarding the investigation.
