Police capture carjacking and robbery suspects after pursuit

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Two men are in custody following a police pursuit in North County.

Police say they spotted a vehicle that matched the description of a vehicle wanted in connection with an armed robbery and assault that occurred a week ago.

As officers attempted to curb the vehicle, the vehicle fled the scene with officers in pursuit.

The officers pursued the vehicle for a short distance, before the pursuit was cancelled. Helicopter took the lead and followed the path of the vehicle.

One suspect fled from the vehicle in the area of Lookaway Drive. After a search of the area, the suspect was taken into custody. Weapons were recovered. 

The second suspect continued on in the vehicle until it malfunctioned. He was also taken into custody in the area of Old Halls Ferry and Halls Ferry.

Police are investigating to determine if the suspects are indeed responsible for the incident from a week ago.

The suspects face multiple charges for Tursday’s incident.
