State and federal authorities were called in to help the case. The man was taken away by the FBI.
This all started about 2 p.m. Thursday after the FBI was notified of a bomb threat at a home in Twin Oaks Drive in Shiloh, not far from Lebanon Avenue.
The FBI responded along with the Hazardous Device Unit from the Illinois Secretary of State Police. Investigators say bomb technicians went into the home and found what are being called potential explosive devices. They disposed of those devices safely.
One resident talked about hearing a loud boom. We don't know much about the person who was taken into custody. Neighbors say he kept to himself.
The homes close to the one where the explosives were found were evacuated for a time. But police say everyone is back in their homes and there is no longer a threat to the public.
