St. LOUIS (KTVI) - NBA basketball fans flocked to the Scottrade Center for a preseason game between the Memphis Grizzlies and Chicago Bulls Monday.

It brought fans from all over Missouri and Illinois to St. Louis.

Many had ties to Chicago or Memphis, but some simply love basketball and dream of St. Louis getting a team.

"I am from Alton, Illinois and I love the Bulls, "Ashley Moore said. "It is time for St. Louis to get basketball."

The Scottrade Center seats about 22,000 people for basketball.

The arena was less than half full, but as of 9 p.m. Monday, the exact number of tickets sold was not available.

"I think it is a good turnout, and should say something about this area," Moore said.
