ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Do you think that people are on their phones a lot during sporting events? Well, Cardinals fans set a record on Friday night.

Smartphone owners on the AT&T network used 183 gigabytes of data at Busch stadium on Friday night. This was 28% more data than Wednesday’s NLDS Game 5 and set a record for data usage during the 2013 season. 15,000 calls and more than 80,000 text messages were also sent on Friday night inside the stadium over the AT&T network.

AT&T is able to track this information through their Antenna system inside Busch Stadium. The system is used to keep customers connected during Cardinal games inside Busch Stadium.
