(KTVI) – There’s a long waiting list at the Edwardsville Public Library.  It’s not for books, but for dolls!

The Edwardsville Public Library’s new program, which allows you to check out an “American Girl” doll, is so popular, four new dolls are being added.

Library officials say all of the dolls are historical characters and provide a learning opportunity.

Dolls can be checked out for a week at a time by children ages 6 and up.  ‘The Edwardsville Intelligencer” reports the library started the program after a librarian read an article about a New York City library loaning out the popular, but expensive dolls.
