Jefferson County turns down grant for roadside safety checks

HILLSBORO, MO. (KTVI) – The Jefferson County Council on Tuesday turned down a grant of up to $22,000 from the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission to fund drunken-driving checkpoints and conduct safety checks, including seat belt law compliance.
