ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - Now that the World Series is being played at Busch Stadium the eyes of the nation are focused on St. Louis. The first class event means a windfall for the city that expands beyond the world of sports.

St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay is beyond thrilled about the Cardinals appearance in the Fall Classic. The Redbird's remarkable success also helps the city attract NCAA Championships, including basketball.  In fact, the St. Louis Sports Commission was in Indianapolis this week working to seal a deal  for more exciting events.

But, it's not just about dollar and cents, but improving the city's image. Now, that's something to cheer about.
