Carlos Beltran wins 2013 Roberto Clemente Award

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) –St. Louis Cardinals right fielder Carlos Beltran has won the 2013 Roberto Clemente Award.  The Roberto Clemente Award is given by Major League Baseball  to the player "who best represents the game of baseball through positive contributions on and off the field, including sportsmanship and community involvement."

The award presentation was made at Busch Stadium Saturday before Game 3 of the World Series.

Roberto Clemente, a Hall of Fame outfielder, died in a 1972 plane crash while attempting to deliver supplies to earthquake victims in Nicaragua.
