(KTVI) - A leaning cell tower is causing the shutdown of a Jefferson County Road and Lone Dell Elementary School.  But, kids still have classes on Thursday.

All classes are still in session for all Fox C-6 students.  But, there will be a change for Lone Dell Elementary students.  Bus drivers will pick up and return children at their normal bus stops at the normal times for the start and end of classes.

Classes will start at:
Rickman Auditorium
745 Jeffco Boulevard
Arnold, MO  63010

Parents can pick up kids at:
The Fox C-6 Service Center
849 Jeffco Boulevard
Arnold, MO  63010

The superintendent for the Fox C-6 School District issued a statement on the school’s website saying U.S. Cellular engineers inspected the tower Tuesday and called with the results Wednesday afternoon.  The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department closed Tomahawk Drive.

A spokeswoman with U.S. Cellular indicated in an emailed statement that engineers found the tower to be too unstable.  It stands near in the school driveway.  The tower is leaning.

Both the school district and cell company stated they do not believe the tower will fall on the school.  They are worried the tower could collapse onto Tomahawk Drive.
